Daemon X Machina Is Getting A Sequel

Marvelous hosted its own digital showcase, its first, yesterday, the Marvelous Game Showcase. The final reveal on the show was the announcement of a new Daemon X Machina game.

Daemon X Machina Titanic Scion is the sequel to the 2020 mecha action game. Kenichiro Tsukuda, who was the producer of the first game (as well as several previous Armored Core games) returns to head the sequel’s development.

The announcement is a teaser, with no gameplay. But we do get to see close-up shots of an Arsenal, the mechas in Daemon X Machina, with a new remix of the game’s hauntingly good main theme.

Daemon X Machina is a decent mecha action game, providing players with the ability customise their mecha for various playstyles to take on various missions. In a lot of ways, it’s reminiscent of the third generation of Armored Core (from Armored Core 3 to Armored Core Last Raven) in the way the mechas are controlled. And for quite a while, it’s the closest thing to a new Armored Core as that series was dormant (but not for long, Armored Core VI is coming this August).

Hopefully, Daemon X Machina Titanic Scion builds upon the good foundation it established but iron out some of its kinks. Let the melodrama flow, sure, but don’t put us in a boilerplate boss rush of an endgame this time around. You can check out our review of Daemon X Machina here.

No release date or platforms were announced for Daemon X Machina Titanic Scion. But the fact it exists should get mecha fans old and new excited.
