Call of Duty “Return to It’s Roots” After Dismal Sales

Activision has confirmed what many has been speculated for quite some time,Call of Duty will go “back to its roots” after the last three titles being set in a Sci-Fi theme, according to IGN.

A vary vague reference from Activision’s IP report.

The upcoming installment of the franchise, made by Sledgehammer Games, will see “traditional combat take center stage.” according to VP of Investor Relation, Amrita Ahuja. But Activision has stated that their development time for the franchise is always two years before release, so the game coming to stores this Christmas isn’t a “Knee-jerk” reaction to the poor sales of Infinite Warfare.

They also commented on the fact that Infinite Warfare wasn’t exactly something that the fans was excited for, even with the bundling of Modern Warfare Remastered and the game was not a success that they planned it to be, even though the game went on to be the best selling game in the US for 2016.

So it could be exciting to see what the team at Activision could do with this change of perspective.
