Bungie Has Trademarked “Matter”, Possible New IP?

Bungie, developers of the Halo series and now Destiny, has filed a new trademark. The sharp sleuths at Resetera saw the filing on the European Union Intellectual Property Office site. The trademark covers category 9 and 41, which is for “Computer game software downloadable from a global computer network” and “Entertainment services, namely, providing video games and video game competitions via the Internet”.

Interestingly, there is even a logo of sorts, as seen in the featured image above.

All the speculation leads to a possible new IP, but we will see if that is to be the case.

Bungie recently received $100 million USD of investment from NetEase, the Chinese developer/publisher known to operate Blizzard games in China. Or more familiarly known here in Southeast Asia for its Battle Royale game, Rules Of Survival. NetEase now sits on the board of directors for Bungie.
