Battlerite Is A Fast-Paced MOBA With Just The Team Fights

There’s a certain level of knowledge needed to effectively play- or even watch- MOBAs like Dota and League Of Legends. Many of these nuances might be lost to casual players, and are completely off the head to appreciate the hypest moments of the game: team fights. When two or three players duke it out, using abilities to set-up the enemy and get those kills. But what if there’s a game that actually only focus on that, making the term “Multiplayer Online Battle Arena” apt? Enter Battlerite.

In Battlerite, you play as a team of two or three and duke out against the enemy team. It is parts fighting game and parts twin-stick shooter, as you move with WASD and aim with the mouse, but there are abilities unique to each hero. Player skill is emphasised a ton here as these abilities are all available from the get go, with the namesake Battlerite which acts as buffs after each round that can be selected. No grinding. No creeps or towers. It’s just the team fights.

Battlerite is developed by Stunlock Studios, who developed the cult-hit Bloodline Champions (which The GD Studios, the team behind Diabotical, had once assisted). The game is in Early Access right now for RM38, which unlocks all heroes. A free-to-play version is still in the works coming at the end of this year, or early 2017.
