Baldur’s Gate III Full Release Coming To PS5 As Well As PC, With Split-Screen Co-Op And Controller Support

Larian Studio’s upcoming CRPG Baldur’s Gate III already has a release date. But at the February 2023 State Of Play broadcast, it also confirmed to arrive on PS5 as well.

The new trailer also shows off two new things. On the PS5, you can play split-screen co-op with up to two players, or play with up to four players online. Also, the game will have full controller supports as a result, something not seen in the Early Access version of the game currently available.

The new trailer also showcased one new antagonist, General Ketehric Thorm, voiced by J.K. Simmons. Two more will be revealed in the coming months leading up to launch.

Baldur’s Gate III will be the first numbered entry of the series, part of the Forgotten Realms Dungeons & Dragons setting. The first two entries were developed by Bioware- what used to be the stalwarts of modern CRPGs- so Larian, of the Divinity series fame, has a big shoe to fill.

Baldur’s Gate III arrives on August 31 on PS5, PC (Steam) and Mac.
