Larian Studios, the team behind the excellent CRPG series Divinity: Original Sin, will be developing Baldur’s Gate III. Baldur’s Gate is the seminal Dungeons & Dragons series which last saw a release in 2001. And now it’s back with a proven developer in the genre at the helms.
Unveiled first on Stadia’s first Stadia Connect, it reveals that the mind flayers are attacking the Forgotten Realms.
Larian Studios have been cutting their teeth in the CRPG space, recently with Divinity Original Sin 2. So they deserved the big shot of actually making a licensed D&D game this time around.
Not much of the game itself is shown yet, but expect to see more at the PC Gaming Show at E3 2019.
So far, Baldur’s Gate III is coming to PC and Stadia.
