WB. Games and Turtle Rock Studios revealed what’s coming to the co-op zombie shooter Back 4 Blood post-launch.
The post-launch content road map features free updates for everyone and for those that own the Annual Pass.
The Annual Pass will include three expansions, the first of which will be called Tunnels Of Terror. Tunnels Of Terror will feature “new story content, playable Cleaners and Ridden, activity type, weapons, cards, and exclusive skins”.
Tunnels Of Terror and the two other expansions will be rolling out in 2022.
As for free updates, you can expect the following:
November 2021
- Quality Of Life Improvements
- Major Bg Fixes
December 2021
- New Supply Lines
- Ridden Practice Area
- Holiday Seasonal Event
- Solo Offline Mode with Campaign Progression
- New Card Type
- New Cards
2022
- New Difficulty
- New Player & Corruption Cards
- New Co-op Mode
- Melee Updates
- ife Improvements
A solo offline mode with campaign progression saves is a much-needed feature. While Back 4 Blood is designed mainly for co-op, having the ability to play solo, offline, and have it count towards progression should make it a better deal for players who prefer playing the game that way. Having progression saved should not make it a total waste of time.
Back 4 Blood is Turtle Rock Studios’ return to their successful form by making a spiritual successor of Left 4 Dead. In the first two weeks of launch, it amassed a whopping 6 million players. The game is available on Xbox Game Pass for both console and PC on launch, and is genuinely good, likely contributing to the large player base on release.
Back 4 Blood is out now on PS4, PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
