Anno 1800 Returns The City Builder Series To Its Past, Not-Sci-Fi, Roots

For two games, the city builder series Anno dabbled with sci-fi with Anno 2070 and Anno 2205. Now the series is going back to the past on a year in which all its numerals add up to 9: 1800.

In Anno 1800, the world is in the cusps of the Industrial Revolution. It will feature a story campaign, multiplayer and its own sandbox mode like previous games. But it’s also bringing back other features such as AI opponents and procedurally generated maps.

After the sci-fi titles, Anno 1800 should scratch the itch old-school fans of the series would love. The title has picked up the Best PC Game award at gamescom, which should be a good sign of things to come.

Anno 1800 will be out on February 26th 2019 on the PC.
