Acer has announced its line of gaming centric line products is now available in Malaysia.
Dubbed the Predator Gaming Series, this is Acer’s first foray into the gaming niche. The Predator line currently consists of the Predator 15 & 17 gaming laptops with superior cooling capabilities, the Predator D6 and D3 desktops, two monitors, the curved 35-inch Predator Z35 with 21:9 aspect ratio and the Predator XB1 with small bezels ideal for multi monitor use, and lastly, the Predator 8, a gaming tablet. Yes, a gaming tablet.
All are made for gamers in mind, so expect to see beefy specs and performance, as they aim to provide an “out of this world gaming experience”.
We got some hands-on time with all these products, and will have a detailed impression soon. Unfortunately, despite its gaming pedigree, we only get to see a handful of games on display: Dota 2, Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO), Asseto Corsa in a sweet simulator setup with three monitors, and Asphalt 8 on the tablet. Hopefully we get the chance to get a hold of them to do some testing on more demanding games in the future.
As it is, Dota 2 runs smoothly on the laptops and the desktop can handle CS: GO with a silky smooth 60fps and above. In terms of features, these products have plenty of them that gamers may be interested in, from programmable keyboard shortcuts (macros) and LED colour, to one-press overclocking.
Look forward for more detailed impressions on each of the new Predator line here in GamerMalaya.
