The Access Controller for PS5, the customisable controller designed to accommodate the disabled to play video games their way, is now available globally, including Malaysia.
The Access Controller for PS5 is priced at RM449. It features one large joystick with eight buttons, and quite the number of button caps. The controller can be paired with another Access Controller or a DualSense/DualSense Edge controller, and four 3.5mm ports to plug in other compatible accessories sold separately.
The controller has numerous ways to customise, including on the software side.
But most importantly, the Access Controller for PS5 was designed with the input from organisations like AbleGamers, Stack-Up and SpecialEffect that are making gaming more accessible for the disabled.
It’s a good move on PlayStation to provide accessibility in this level, something Xbox have did previously. As consoles can only operate with specific controllers, getting custom controllers to work with different button configurations, layouts and specific peripherals can be a challenge. So it’s nice that there’s now an official customisable controller that solves this problem, at least on paper.
