A New Hitman Game Is In The Works

Hitman 2016 and its developers Io Interactive have been in a rough ride this year. Thankfully, after being liberated from Square Enix the team remain strong as ever with the release of new content for the Game Of The Year edition.

But that will not be the end of Hitman, however. CEO of Io Interactive Hakan Abrak has teased that there will be a new Hitman game and it is currently in the works.

This is what he said as stated in the developer’s blog:

“One last thing about our next Hitman game; I want to let you know that we’re making great progress and we have exciting new features and some franchise firsts, which we can’t wait to tell you all about. You’ll have to wait a little longer as we don’t plan to start talking about that until some point in 2018.”

Good to hear that Agent 47 still has more jobs to do, but this is an interesting development. Most would expect Io to build upon Hitman and make Season 2 of content, so an entirely new Hitman game is interesting to hear.

Whether it is as full-fledged as the latest game is or a new take of the formula, we will wait until next year to know more.
