The Skyrim mod community will never let the game fall at all cost.
Skyrim came out in 2011 but earlier this month, a modder released Holds: The City Overhaul, an expansion that renovates every village and town in the game.
Even among a mod community that refuses to let the game die, this addition was a Herculean task, taking the modder an average two hours a day over three years to finish. That’s a labor of love.
At 4GB, Holds is a big chunk of content — none of which adds to the game’s storyline. It’s just more stuff, like new architecture, outfits and named characters to enrich the walking-through-town experience. Holds’ creator even wrote completely new in-game books, adding to Skyrim lore.
This is not a botanical garden mod, nor is it a beautification mod. Holds aims to stay as lore-friendly as possible and at the same time expand on the backgrounds and stories for its locations.
Working part time on Holds The City Overhaul since late 2012, creator Galandil has poured countless hours into the game’s creation kit as a means of crafting the best interpretation of Skyrim as possible.

Keen explorers can seek them out in various locations across the map, such as the book store in Falkreath, the Haafingar Library in Solitude, and The Palace of Kings Library in Windhelm.
What are you waiting for, Skyrim lovers? Go ahead and download the mod for free! Feel the greatness of the powerful mod made by the best community who needs no papers to achieve such amazing creation.
