A new info drop from Blizzard pertaining the Overwatch League has details on what players should be getting once they signed a contract to play in the league. Blizzard has promised that players will be getting stability with fairer contracts, and it looks promising for now.
Players that sign the Overwatch League Player Agreement will be entitled for the following:Teams will sign players to one-year guaranteed contracts with the option to extend the contract for an additional year. Blizzard has finally broke the silence on what are the teams that will be taking part in the first season of Overwatch League, their ambitious take on a top flight esports league that operates more similar to a traditional sports league. This first announcement reveals seven teams, calling seven different cities across the world as their home ground.

The Overwatch League is having a bit of a rocky start. The initial pitch of a franchised league run by Blizzard themselves with promise of better pay for players and better compensation for teams participating sounds good, if not slightly ambitious. Not much news about the League is available officially, uncertainty floats in the air which had made various teams that rushed to secure an Overwatch roster to let them go again.
Following up from the reports of a high asking value of $20 million for a spot in the Overwatch League, ESPN Esports has reported that at least six teams are now confirmed.

Ready up for punching action as Blizzard has officially announced their latest Hero in the form of Doomfist.

The announcement of the Overwatch League is both exciting and worrisome. Exciting, that if Blizzard pulled off what they are pitching Overwatch could have a strong esports scene with a pro league to rival traditional sports. Worrisome, as the Overwatch competitive scene is still in its infancy and both tournament organisers and esports organisations still figuring out how the scene should shape up and whether they fit into Blizzard’s plan for Overwatch League.
