Warframe, the free-to-play third-person shooter with online elements ala Destiny is gearing up for its biggest update: Plains Of Eidolon. As it was first revealed, this will add a whole new open world to explore and battle in, making it more similar to an MMO game rather than doing missions in the usual procedural generated maps.
During developers Digital Extreme’s latest dev stream, over 22 minutes of gameplay was shown featuring this new location, which includes a market hub for new vendors and quests, new side activities such as mining, and a day-night cycle.
Since the maps are large, you can also traverse it using the archwing, which allows players to [...]
It’s safe to assume battle royale has now become a new genre of its own. Put a set number of players, no respawns, last man standing wins. Popularised by modder turned game developer PlayerUnknown, it’s only a matter of time every other game wants to have their take of the formula- considering PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) has amassed a huge following, even reaching the second highest concurrent number of players on Steam– and was the highest, beating both Dota 2 and GTA Online, last weekend.
That’s where the new Adversary Mode in GTA Online comes in. Motor Wars is basically that. It resembles a previous Adversary Mode called Drop Zone, but [...]
The next big content update for GTA Online is called Smuggler’s Run. Some of you might remember the launch title for PS2 of the same name, developed by Angel Studios- now known as Rockstar San Diego (the team leading the Red Dead series). Smuggler’s Run and its sequel were all about navigating through the off-road open environment to get the ‘goods’ before a rival team, or the police, takes it first.
But that sounds way too close like GTA Online’s last update offered.
Instead, this update is focusing on smuggling items from the sky like the story mode in GTA V did. New missions involving transporting cargo- this time by air, new aircrafts [...]
It wouldn’t be an Assassin’s Creed game without cameos from historical figures. And Origins will continue to do the same. Set in ancient Egypt, during the birth of the Assassins- within the game lore that is- expect to come across the Cleopatra and Julius Cesar as you journey through the game as Bayek.
Check out the cinematic trailer below:
Not too shabby.
Origins will see a few shake-ups to the Assassin’s Creed formula, including RPG elements such as level progression and loot gear alongside a revamped combat system.
Assassin’s Creed Origins will be out really soon- October 27 for the PS4, PC and Xbox One.
The good people at Capcom have dropped a new trailer for the widely-anticipated Monster Hunter: World today. It features a new area, the Wildspire Wastes as well as a first look at some new monsters, on top of announcing the return of cool older wise.
Structurally, the Wildspire Wastes fulfills the mandatory “desert zone” requirement of every Monster Hunter game. These maps contain areas of extreme heat, which gradually drain health unless you stock up on cold drinks beforehand. The wastes also seem to have a muddy zone, the function of which we’ll get into later.
The main monster shown off is a returning Baroth. This large brute wyvern has a giant [...]
Don’t just call it a hero shooter. The new open world shooter based in the Saints Row universe but not a Saints Row game Agents Of Mayhem is out now. Featuring 12 different characters with different abilities and personalities, assemble your team of three to take down the evil organisation LEGION.
The tone is loosely based in Saturday morning cartoons of yore, which explains the G.I. Joe-like assemble cast (and public service announcements) , just with more swearing in the mix.
If you’re in the mood for a fun mindless shooter it’s a solid game, though if you’re expecting an open world romp ala Saints Row this will prove disappointing. Reviews [...]
