EA is now giving everyone to give another chance at Mass Effect Andromeda. The game now has a 10 hour trial on the PS4, Xbox One and PC. This was first made available as EA’s Origin Access service, but now everyone can give it a shot.
This is time limited trial, meaning all the content, including the single-player and multiplayer component, are available to try out. Once the time is out, you can purchase the game and keep all your progression made in the trial.
You can check out the trial on PS4 here (it’s in “Try Free Demo”). The PC link is here (“Get Trial”), though you will require the Origin launcher to download it.
It’s only four months since the release of the decent but overall disappointing entry to Mass Effect. But with the latest update to the game, it is removing the anti-tampering software Denuvo.
Denuvo is used to stop PC games from being pirated early in its launch. Once deemed uncrackable and even forced a cracking group to give up, the pirates has caught on in the ongoing cat-and-mouse game between them and Denuvo.
However, games that are have since long released have been known to remove the counter-measure which includes Doom 2016, Inside and most recently Hitman.
As DSO Gaming reported, it is unknown at the time whether the removal is intentional or [...]
Slowly and surely, Bioware is trying to keep their promise in an earlier post to keep adding several more fixes and additions to the decent, but generally lacklustre sequel to the hit RPG series. Update 1.08 is the third round of major updates to be released post-launch and is focused on bringing two big features: an improved character creator and an additional romance option for Scott Ryder.
The improved character creator is.. not that much. You’ll get two additional head preset for each gender, a complexion option and more variety of skin tones. More hairstyles are available but only one of it is truly new- a bald option. All hairstyles are now not tied to gender. [...]
Another Mass Effect: Andromeda update just dropped today. Patch 1.06 may not bring in drastic improvements seen in update 1.05, but this patch is more notable for the rebalancing of the combat for multiplayer. Bioware dedicated a seperate blog post just to talk about the balance changes, which essentially bring up all power’s base damage and buffing several assault rifles, pistols and shotguns to keep up with the fast-paced combat the multiplayer demands, especially in harder difficulties. You can check out the full list of changes for multiplayer here.
As for single player content, most of it are bug fixes and several quality of life changes (new dialogue won’t be [...]
Mass Effect: Andromeda was released too soon it seems, but Bioware will not stop there. As promised last week, they have now share details of the first post-game patch that address some of the many issues the game has been plagued with.
Looking at the patch notes for update 1.05, it looks like it’s making the right kind of fixes. The ability to skip the long sequences when traveling in the galaxy map, improved lip-sync and facial animations, and balance tweaks are among the first to be addressed. Here’s the full patch notes:Improved tutorial placement Increased inventory limits Single player balance changes: Ammo crates, armor, weapons, nomad, profiles, [...]
It’s ironic how the setup for the new entry of Mass Effect reflects so much on how its development went. A cast of familiar but entirely different people, thinking of a bright new beginning only to find out their leadership is gone and they have now grossly underestimate the undertaking of the journey they are getting into.
In Mass Effect: Andromeda, the entire cast revolves around the Andromeda Initiative- a group of thousands of Milky Way species that are making their way to find a new home in the Andromeda galaxy. Some of the people here are looking for a better life- some, like the Ryder family, their scarred reputation means going to a new galaxy is the only way to [...]
