Absolver brings a complex fighting system into an action adventure game. But it certainly looks interesting. Their last video showcases how you would form a combat deck- a movelist of combos that you can mix and match as you find and learn new moves.
This time, their trailer focuses on how weapons and power come into play. Bringing out weapons may give you an advantage, but weapons can break. A skilled opponent can also disarm you and use it against you.
Absolver will be released for the PS4 and PC on August 29.
How do you get attention to your new game that now has a launch date? Throw in a free game, of course. That’s exactly what developers Thunder Lotus Games did. For a limited time, you can get their previous game Jotun for free on Steam as well as GOG.
Jotun is a 2D adventure game with light exploration elements that dot between the battles against the gigantic gods based on Nordic mythology. For the price of free, it is worth trying out.
The new game from Thunder Lotus is called Sundered. Sundered takes the beautiful 2D aesthetic of Jotun and build around it a “replayable Metroidvania”. Expect abilities to unlock as you play through the game and again [...]
No two Klei games are ever the same, and the indie studio keeps on making newer games each year. As their colony builder and vomiting simulator Oxygen Not Included ramps up progress to an Early Access game, they also started working on a new game- this time it’s an RPG.
Griftlands looks to be taking cues from JRPGs (turn-based battles, overworld map and party members running behind you) as well as CRPGs with mechanics like negotiations and dynamic conversations. “Everything is negotiable: money, loyalty—even morality,” reads the description on Steam.
Like every Klei game, it sports its own distinctive art style, a strong, gutsy 2D look that certainly [...]
2017 might also be the year of the mascot platformers with Mario, Sonic, Crash Bandicoot, the spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie and even Bubsy of all things getting a new game this year. Add one more to the list with the sequel to Lucky’s Tale.
Lucky’s Tale was a VR-exclusive platformer released last year for the Oculus Rift. This time around, developers Playful ditched the VR and making it Super- adding more variety to what was seen in the original game where level and enemy designs get repetitive too quickly. While it’s unfortunate that VR tech might have been holding this quirky title to shine at the first go, but now that Super Lucky’s Tale is an [...]
The multiplayer battle royale hit PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) is still in early access but it’s taking the world, specifically the streaming world, by storm. Still in its Early Access phase on PC, it was announced that PUBG will be coming to consoles.
Now you too can experience the multiplayer 100 man battle royale in the 8km x 8km map on the consoles, coming first on the Xbox One.
Here’s a trailer:
PUBG will be out on Xbox One first for the console release, out later this year.
Want a new indie game with split-screen multiplayer? From the creator of Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons, A Way Out is a another take of co-op gaming, but with a grander scale. You play as a duo of Leo and Vincent, teaming up to find a way out (hah!) of the prison where they are kept.
The interesting part is the game is entirely played via split-screen, with clever use of it. One person could be in a cut-scene and another is experiencing gameplay, and using the two perspectives together makes it an experience not seen in most games. It will be a mix of various mechanics, a bit of adventure game, a bit of stealth and combat.
You can play it either locally with a friend or [...]
