As esports gets bigger, so is the need for a more organised and stable tournament circuit. Aside from The International’s record-breaking prize pool and three Majors event each year, there’s little structure around Dota 2 esports.
That will change in the upcoming season. Valve has outlined some changes before but now has confirmed more details of the newly named Dota Pro Circuit.

Today at a press event at 1Utama Petaling Jaya, ASUS Malaysia has announced that the country will be hosting the International Grand Finals of ROG Masters, the hardware brand’s own esports tournament.
This is the second year that the ROG (Republic Of Gamers) Masters is running. After the success of last year’s event, which covered Asia and Oceania regions, 2017 see the ROG Masters expanding to the rest of the world, now encompassing four regions: APAC (Asia Pacific), EMEA (Europe, Middle-East and Asia), Americas and China competing in Dota 2 and CS:GO.

The EA Sports FIFA Online 3 SEA Open Championship 2017 will see national champions of 1v1 players from seven countries duke it out. Taking place in Hanoi, Vietnam from 15-16 September, these players will be playing for a piece of the VND 500 million (RM94,000) prize pool.
The seven countries that will be participating in the SEA Open Championship are Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, China, South Korea and Indonesia.

Blizzard is continuing to realise their huge esports ambitions with the opening of their very own esports arena. Simply called the Blizzard Arena, this venue is fit for hosting esports events and includes practice facilities for players, a merchandise store for fans, and also some good production features which includes multiple sound stages and control rooms.
The Blizzard Arena is located in the Burbank Studios area, Los Angeles, and will open on October 7. The first event it will play host to is the playoffs for Overwatch Contenders Season One. While there are talks from the Olympics committee to bring esports into a bigger stage, there is however a similar body that is empowering esports on the international level. The International e-Sports Federation (IeSF) has been conducting the IeSF World Championships for the past eight years and continuing to do so this year.
Three games will have representatives from Malaysia competing at the upcoming World Championship, to be held in Busan, South Korea on November 9-12. These players went through the national qualifiers organised by e-Sukan Malaysia (eSM).
